15th June 1908 regarding the employment in the Fur Bust
of Natives of India, I am directed by Viscount Morley
to
transmit for the consideration of the Earl of Crewe
a copy of a letter received from the Government of
India.
I am to say that, as at present advised, Lord Morley
is disposed to accept the view of the Government of
India that the scheme for recruiting through the
recruiting staff in India for the police forces in
China should now be abandoned, and I am to enquire
whether Lord Crewe has any objection to the proposed
abandonment.
